Below is our complete step-by-step process for FREEING you
from your opiate addiction and keeping you CLEAN:
from your opiate addiction and keeping you CLEAN:
1 - Phone Call
The journey to our All Opiates Detox program starts with that phone call to (800) 458-8130. The call is made by the patient, a spouse or loved one, a parent, a family member, or even a friend. Anyone needing help or wanting to help can make that call. Our experienced medical professionals at All Opiates Detox will explain our unique rapid detox under sedation treatment and answer all your questions. If needed, patients can even speak directly to our doctors.
2 - Phone Consultation
Once the patient is ready to get help, our All Opiates Detox experienced professionals will do an over the phone consultation and screening. Patients are screened with utmost care for establishing medical fitness and psychological readiness for the procedure. The screening is to make sure the patient qualifies for the rapid opiate detoxification procedure from a medical point of view.
Based on the screening process, certain patients may be asked to get lab work or a cardiac test prior to making arrangements to come to our facility. These tests can also be performed in Michigan, based on the discretion of our medical doctors and our experienced medical intake coordinators.
3 - Schedule an Appointment
Patients are scheduled once they qualify and decide to detox through our All Opiates Detox under sedation procedure. Patients are under our care for 3 days, Monday until Thursday or Tuesday until Friday. We also accommodate patients who need to schedule their rapid detox under sedation treatment on weekends. We know that you trust in us and will be putting everything aside to get your life back so we do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Once scheduled, patients (and their companion) make the travel arrangements. Due to our stellar reputation and success rate, the majority of our patients fly or drive to us from outside of Michigan.
4 - Pre-Op Instructions
The patient will receive an individualized information packet consisting of: diet to follow, hotel info for the companion. Each patient is given specific individualized instructions tailored according to multiple factors, ranging from physical and medical history to type of drug opiate abuse/addiction.
5 - Testing
Pre-op testing exam and complete screening will be provided by Dr. Joseph George M.D. the day prior to the rapid detoxification procedure. EKG and bloodwork will also be done at the All Opiates Detox facility. The stress test is scheduled on this day for specific patients, based on the conversation during the over the phone screening. The patient’s companion will also have a chance to speak to Dr. George. The meeting will give the family member or loved one an opportunity to ask any questions and to better understand how to be involved in caring for and supporting the patient post detox.
In addition to the pre-detox services by All Opiates Detox Medical Doctors and staff, a consultation is provided by Dr. Tatone, our PhD, Psychotherapist. Dr. Tatone uses motivational therapy and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and will discuss relapse prevention, identifying and avoiding relapse triggers.
6 - Detox Day
Each patient will have an IV. Medications will be given per individualized protocols. The patient is made comfortable with supportive measures and medications provided by our experienced physicians and medical staff.
The detox procedure starts. Our Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, Board-Certified Addictionologist, Registered Nurse and a paramedic are all present during the entire rapid drug detox procedure. The patient is sedated and opiate antagonists are given through the IV to rapidly remove the opiates from the brain receptors while the patient is sleeping. This will precipitate acute withdrawals under sedation. Medications and sedation are administered to the patient throughout the withdrawal process so that the patient does not feel the pain and discomfort of the withdrawals. Our Medical Doctors, board-certified in Addiction Medicine and board-certified in Anesthesia, perform the rapid opiate detox procedure. Each patient is closely monitored, as in any hospital operating room. The procedure takes approximately one hour, during which a Naltrexone pellet is implanted. The Naltrexone blocks opiates from getting back into the brain receptors, reduces cravings and prevents relapse. The Naltrexone implant dissolves on its own over a period of approximately 2 months.
The detox procedure is done. After the detox procedure, the patient is taken to the recovery area for monitoring, observation and supportive medical treatment. The patient has one-on-one care by All Opiates Detox paramedics, nurses and both of our treating medical doctors. Once stable, the patient is taken to the observation area for further monitoring and support, directly by our doctors, nurses and paramedics. Once stable, patients are cleared for discharge from the facility to their loved ones the following day.
7 - Day After the All Opiates Detox Procedure
At this stage of the rapid detox treatment, patients are basically just resting. Patients prefer to rest in the presence of their caregiver or loved one, in the privacy and comfort of their own private and quiet hotel room. The treating physician is always available to examines patients when needed before discharge to go home.
8 - Discharge Day
The medical doctor examines patients in the morning and clears them for discharge. Discharge instruction will be given to the patient and family or loved ones. Discharge medications for comfort will be given to the patient.
9 - Post Discharge Care
Once discharged from All Opiates Detox, patients have direct access to our doctor, PHD psychologist and board certified addictionologist, medical doctor. We do not discard patients, since post detox care by experienced medical professionals is vital. Your post-detox care is provided by our staff who had direct contact with you and are therefore familiar with you. They care for you as an individual, based on their knowledge and hands-on experience. We are the ONLY facility that provides post discharge care and support directly by our doctors, 7 days a week.
